Why This Skill Is Worth Learning
A Foundational Skill
Wig making is the base skill behind almost every other service in this industry. Once you can build a wig, restoring, styling and installing all make more sense.
You Can Sell What You Make
A wig you build yourself has no supplier cost beyond materials. Every unit you make and sell is close to pure profit.
Two Methods, More Options
Knowing both hand and machine sewing means you can choose the right method for the client, the budget and the timeline.
You Can Charge After One Client
The workshop costs R7 500. One made-to-order wig sells for more than that. Your investment is recovered on your very first sale.
How Much Handmade Wigs Sell For
These are real prices in the South African wig market. Once you have this skill, this is what you can charge.
Prices reflect the South African market and vary based on hair quality, complexity, and your positioning.
Everything in Your Wig Kit
Every student receives a wig-making kit on the day. These materials are yours to keep so you can start building as soon as you get home.
Please bring your own sewing machine, straightener and hairdryer on the day. These are not included in your kit, as most students already own their preferred tools.
